The Wimbledon 2011 tournament is the 125th edition in the history of The Championships, Wimbledon. The Championships will be held from June 20 till July 3, 2011.

The 125th edition of The Championships will feature two new courts, Court #3 and Court #4. Court #3 will be opened by the Duke of Kent. 19 courts will be used in this year's tournament and an additional 22 will be available for the players to practice.

Defending Champion Rafael Nadal is the top seeded men's singles player in the tournament. Novak Djokovic is seeded No.2 , while Roger Federer is seeded No. 3 in the tournament. In women's singles, World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki is the top seeded player in the tournament. Vera Zvonareva is seeded No. 2 and Na Li who won the French Open this year is seeded No. 3. World No. 2 Kim Clijsters announced her withdrawl from the tournament with a right foot injury. No. 24 Alisa Kleybanova will also not appear in the tournament because of illness.

Day 13

Second seed Novak Djokovic won his first Wimbledon title and third grand slam title defeating defending champion Rafael Nadal 6-4, 6-1, 1-6, 6-3. Reaching the final at the Wimbledon 2011, Djokovic will become the new World No. 1 in the ATP rankings that will be released tomorrow. Djokovic won the Australian Open Grand Slam title in 2008 and the Australian Open and Wimbledon titles this year.

Day 12

Petra Kvitova beat Maria Sharapova to win her first Grand Slam title. Kvitova, playing in her first grand slam final kept her cool as she beat Sharapova 6-3, 6-4 in straight sets.

Day 11

Top seed Rafael Nadal beat No. 4 seed Andy Murray, while No. 2 seed Novak Djokovic beat No. 12 seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the semifinals of Men's Singles. Nadal will play Djokovic in the final of Wimbledon 2011 Men's Singles. With a victory in the semifinals, Novak Djokovic is now guaranteed No. 1 spot in the ATP Rankings.

Day 10

Petra Kvitova and Maria Sharapova will clash in the final of the Wimbledon 2011 Women's Singles Final. Petra Kvitova beat fourth seeded Victoria Azarenka 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 to reach the final, while Sharapova defeated wild card entrant Sabine Lisicki 6-4, 6-3.

Day 9

Six time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer lost in a shocking upset to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon 2011. Federer was up two sets to love, but Tsonga rallied to beat Federer 3-6, 6-7 (3-7), 6-4, 6-4, 6-4. In other quarterfinal matches, top seed and defending champion Rafael Nadal beat No. 10 seed Mardy Fish. Second seeded Novak Djokovic beat qualifier Bernard Tomic in four sets, while Andy Murray beat Feliciano Lopez in straight sets and will next play Rafael Nadal in the semifinals.

Day 8

Day 8 at the Wimbledon 2011 Grand Slam tournament featured the quarterfinal matches of Women's Singles. Fourth seed Victoria Azarenka beat Tamira Paszek 6-3, 6-1 and will next play eighth seed Petra Kvitova in the semifinals. Kvitova beat No. 32 seed Tsvetana Pironkova 6-3, 6-7(5), 6-2. No. 5 seed Maria Sharapova and wild card entrant Sabine Lisicki also advanced to the semifinals and will play against each other.

Day 7

The top four seeds in the Men's Singles of the Wimbledon 2011 safely sailed into the quarterfinals of the tournament. Top seed Rafael Nadal and third seed Roger Federer dropped a set but managed to enter the round of last 8. Second seed Novak Djokovic and fourth seed Andy Murray won their fourth round matches in straight sets. In women's singles, top seed Caroline Wozniacki lost to No. 24 seed Dominika Cibulkoa. Serena Williams also feel to No. 9 seed Marion Bartoli, while her sister Venus Williams also lost to Tsvetana Pironkova in straight sets.

Tomas Berdych and David Ferrer also advanced to the fourth round. In Women's singles, top seed Caroline Wozniacki and No. 5 seed Maria Sharapova advanced to the fourth round.

In an upset, Feliciano Lopez beat No. 8 seed Andy Roddick 7-6(2), 7-6(2), 6-4. No. 17 seed Richard Gasquet also advanced to the fourth round. In women's singles matches, second seed Vera Zvonareva fell to No. 32 seed Tsvetana Pironkova 6-2, 6-3. No. 11 seed Andrea Petkovic, No. 12 seed Svetlana Kuznetsova also lost in the third round. Third seed and French Open champion Na Li failed to take advantage of two match points as she lost to wild card entrant Sabine Lisicki 3-6, 6-4, 8-6 in the second round. Roger Federer also beat Mikhail Kukushin in a straight set victory. Robin Soderling, David Ferrer and Andy Roddick won their first round matches on Day 2. In women's singles, World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki, Na Li, Victoria Azarenka, Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams won their first round matches.
