The If Stockholm Open is a tennis event on the ATP Tour held in Stockholm, Sweden in the end of October or beginning of November each year. The organizer of the tournament is The Royal Lawn Tennis Club of Stockholm. The first Stockholm Open was held in 1969 and it has been played each year ever since. The tournament is played on indoor hard court and features both men's singles and doubles tournament. In 1975, 1979, and 1980, a short-lived women's competition was held, which was played on carpet.

Marcos Baghdatis defeated Olivier Rochus 6-1 7-5 to win the If Stockholm Open 2009 Men's Singles title.

Marcos Baghdatis advanced to the final of the If Stockholm Open 2009 with a walkover against top seed Robin Soderling. In the other semifinal, Oliver Rochus defeated Thomaz Bellucci.

Top seeded Robin Soderling defeated Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in the quarterfinals. Olivier Rochus defeated Jarkko Nieminen and Thomaz Bellucci defeated Joachim Johansson to move to the semifinals of the If Stockholm Open 2009. In other matches, Thomaz Bellucci and Marcos Baghdatis won their quarterfinal matches.

Day 4

Top seed Robin Soderling defeated Andreas Seppi 6-1, 6-3 in the second round of If Stochholm Open on Day 4. Jarkko Nieminen advanced to the quarterfinals of the If Stockholm Open 2009 with a walkover against second seeded Tommy Haas. Eighth seeded Feliciano Lopez lost to Olivier Rochus in the second round. In other matches, Eighth seeded Feliciano Lopez, Guillermo Garcia-Lopez and Thomaz Bellucci advanced in the tournament.

Day 1

Fourth seeded Juan Monaco defeated Jan Hernych 6-2, 5-7, 7-5 in his first round match on Day 1 at the If Stockholm Open. Sixth seeded Benjamin Becker was knocked out of the tournament on Day 1 by Simon Greul. Gruel lost the first set, but won the last two 2-6, 6-3, 7-5 to advance to the second round. Guillermo Garcia-Lopez defeated Alberto Martin 6-3, 6-2 to advance to Round 2.
