Fernando Verdasco Carmona is a professional tennis player from Spain. He began playing tennis at an age of four with his father in the backyard at their home. His father Jose, and mother Olga owns a restaurant in Madrid. Verdasco has 2 sisters Sara and Ana and his close friend is Feliciano Lopez. Verdasco's favorite soccer team is Real Madrid and his favorite non tennis destinations are Miami and Las Vegas.

Fernando Verdasco is currently the second-highest ranked Spanish tennis player, ranked No. 9 in the world (as of September 14, 2009). Verdasco started playing tennis at four years of age and had a full-time coach when he was eight. Verdasco has been working in Las Vegas with Andre Agassi and his team including Darren Cahill (Agassi's former coach) and Gil Reyes (Agassi's fitness coach).
