Richard Gasquet began the 2013 ATP World Tour season winning the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2013 in January. Seeded No. 2 in the tournament, he rallied to defeat Nikolay Davydenko in the final. Gasquet next played at the Australian Open 2013 where he reached the fourth round.
In February, he won the Open Sud de France title, becoming the first player to win two ATP World Tour titles in the 2013 season.
