Novak Djokovic defeats Olivier Rochus - 2010 Wimbledon First round

 Wimbledon 2010

London, England
June 21, 2010

Novak Djokovic and Olivier Rochus made history at the Centre Court when their first round match finished at 10:58 pm on Monday night, the latest ever finish to a match at the Centre Court. It was a difficult day for the men's singles top seeds as Federer, Davydenko and Djokovic survived five set thrillers. Novak Djokovic beat Olivier Rochus 3-6, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 to advance to the second round where he will play Taylor Dent of America.

The match was interrupted for 45 minutes when the referee deemed the light insufficient at 8:30 pm and the roof had to be closed for 45 minutes. Djokovic was trailing two sets to one at that time. After the match resumed, Djokovic rallied to win the last two sets to advance to the second round.
